Hello,
I recently read this article on exercise and recovery…this year’s fitness buzzword is ‘Recovery’ but the concept is hardly new.
https://apnews.com/…/exercise-recovery-injury-workout… No pain, no gain? Hardly. This year’s fitness buzzword is ‘recovery’
I remember walking into Athlete’s Performance in Tempe, AZ, in the early 2000s. Just past the entrance, a simple yet powerful sign greeted you: WORK (with an arrow pointing left) and REST (with an arrow pointing right). At the time, this approach was groundbreaking. As one of the nation’s premier training centers, they were among the first to emphasize recovery just as much as training—an idea that was novel then but has since become the norm.
Today, the fitness industry has fully embraced the importance of recovery, with strategies like mobility work, sleep optimization, and active rest becoming essential components of performance. “No pain, no gain” is giving way to a smarter, more sustainable approach to fitness.
Millennium Family Fitness is excited to introduce the new Recovery Room, equipped with Normatec and Hyperice products designed to enhance recovery and prepare your body for your next workout. Members can schedule a complimentary instructional session for how to use the Recovery modalities by clicking here or call me at 417.208.9838. Here’s to training smarter, not necessarily harder!
All the best,
